GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under direct supervision of the BHA Energy Manager, the Utility Data Coordinator will support the Boston

Housing Authority’s Strategic Sustainability Plan with particular emphasis on building and utility data

management. The Utility Data Coordinator will be responsible for managing the monthly processing of

Energy and Water consumption and cost data, including both Supply and Delivery for Electricity and Natural

Gas, Oil, Water and Sewer and Alternative Energy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide oversight and support to BHA’s Utility Management Software (Mass Energy Insight or

WegoWise).

• Provide research and data retrieval as requested for HUD, DHCD, Energy Performance Contracts

and BHA collaborative research projects and other projects.

• Work as part of a study team including Harvard School of Public Health to measure the effects of “

green” projects on resident health.

• Provide support to the Energy Manager in the implementation and documentation of the HUD Energy

Audit across BHA’s building portfolio.

• Provide support for BHA’s efforts to implement HUD’s Green Physical Needs Assessment

• Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs, data

entry, graphing and e-mail. An Associate’s degree in a related field is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in a

related field is strongly preferred. Experience with energy audits, data analysis and general knowledge of

residential energy use is preferred. Must possess exceptional organizational skills and demonstrable writing

skills. Must be reliable and be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be physically able to walk up three

flights of stairs. The ability to work successfully in both an office setting and in the field is essential. Must

also be able to multi-task and work independently and as part of a team. Experience working with a diverse,

low-income population is preferred. Prior research experience is highly desirable.
