JOB TITLE: RESEARCH ASSISTANT

UNIT: This is a special project 1-year contract position. No benefits

SALARY RANGE: $30.00 per hour (20-25 hours per week)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Research Assistant (RA) is a part-time, contract position for 1-year. The RA will report to the Chief of Staff at the BHA. The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide research support to various BHA’s special projects, including the assembly and analysis of data acquired from a wide range of sources and the preparation of presentations and reports.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifies key contacts for interviews and data collection;

• Conducts interviews with BHA staff, industry professionals and targeted constituents;

• Conducts research and identifies best practices for various projects in public and private housing;

• Designs surveys and interview questions and analyzes unit data;

• Performs administrative and supportive tasks as needed;

• Collaborates with BHA staff to compile reports for presentation;

• Performs other related duties as required;

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration or a related field is required. A Graduate Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration or a related field is strongly preferred. Excellent writing, statistical analysis and graphic design skills are required. The ability to work well individually and as part of a team is essential.
